Want to put your SQL expertise to use and serve as our primary SQL expert supporting all model developers, for all lines of business, and across all model purposes? You would be a key support in the development and maintenance of all Axis actuarial models primarily for our Term, UL, & PRT businesses, used in Valuation, Corporate Planning, Solvency II, Cash Flow Testing, and Financial Reinsurance.
Role includes Axis model development support, analysis, and validation as we migrate from MG Alfa, as well as meeting all the model validation and documentation requirements defined by our company's model governance policy over all model development activities.

Develop, improve, and maintain all SQL front end processes for all Axis model builds across all model purposes.
Leverage your expertise in SQL to make the process efficient and timely to assure no material impact on meeting deliverables.

Support the development and maintenance of Axis models primarily for Term and UL business for a variety of purposes, including Valuation, Value of New Business, Cash Flow Testing, and Corporate Planning, Solvency II, and Financial Reinsurance, as we continue to migrate our actuarial platform from Alfa to Axis.

May serve as a model code peer reviewer and test models to ensure that they are appropriately built and fit for the purposes of all the modeling requirements as work demands may require across corporate actuarial.

Involved in model development support in Axis, as we migrate all models to the platform.
Assist in validating Axis models against existing Alfa models during the transition period.

Liaise with model governance, valuation, finance, asset modeling, and financial planning team members to ensure SQL coding supports models built in Axis, and are fit for the intended purpose and built according to the model specifications.

Providing modeling support to internal customers as needed.
Possible examples include reinsurance deal pricing, impact analysis for reinsurance treaty negotiation, etc.

Ensure model control is maintained around production models, to prevent unauthorized changes and ensure integrity of model results.
Maintain detailed documentation of all changes made to models, including impacts under key reporting bases and evidence of management approval.

Identify and implement process improvements, including automation of any manual tasks where possible, to increase efficiency and transparency while minimizing the risk of errors.

Education BS/BA Math/Statistics/Actuarial Science Associate, Society of ActuariesExperience/Knowledge
Minimum of 5 years of life insurance/actuarial experiance
Product knowledge of Term, Universal Life, & Riders required
Annuities, Whole Life or Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) experience is a plus
Axis model development or modeling experience ideal
Experience in multiple accounting methods (Statutory, Tax, PBR, Solvency II, IFRS) preferred
Knowledge of Insurance administrative data including reinsuranceSkills
Microsoft SQL Server a must.

Experience with standard SQL statements (SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT, DELETE) including joins, subqueries & aggregate queries
Data Definition Language statements (CREATE TABLE, CREATE VIEW ) including data types
Transact-SQL & SQL built-in functions
Experience with Temporary tables, Stored procedures, & Cursors
Other relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
) may be considered
Actuarial software skills - Axis experience a key requirement, Alfa experience a plus
Strong actuarial analytical skills and problem solving ability
Proficient written and oral communication skills
