The US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), a subordinate research laboratory under the US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, is the lead medical biological defense research laboratory for the DOD Chemical Biological Defense Program.

Develop and maintain information systems certification and accreditation program.
Develop security programs and procedures to ensure the security, reliability, and accessibility of software, information systems, networks, and data.
Manage software certification processes including all Certificate of Networthiness requirements, testing, and issues.
Report incidents to appropriate authorities and assist with related investigations.
Participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate security.
RequirementsConditions of EmploymentQualificationsUSAMRIID is participating in an alternative personnel system known as the Personnel Demonstration Project (PDP).
The DJ-03 payband is equivalent to the GS-11 step 1 to GS-12 step 10 level.
In keeping with the Demonstration pay fixing policies, employees earning a salary that falls within this payband equivalent, will not receive an immediate pay increase (promotion) if appointed to this position.
Future pay increases within the payband will be accomplished through the pay for performance management system.

SPECIALIZED
Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) Securing network infrastructure systems such as firewalls, and storage area networks; (2) Developing guidance and procedures for implementation of information systems security programs; and (3) Managing information assurance vulnerability risk assessment program alerts.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DJ-02 / GS-09).

D.
or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.
D.
or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management (or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks).
All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
OR Combination of Education and
Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
Add the two percentages.
