New school psychologists are provided with a mentor for their first year of employment.
School psychologists have the benefit of secretarial support which includes processing referrals and ensuring receipt of needed documents, sending out and scoring rating scales, contacting parents and teachers to inquire about rating scale status, securing/delivering assessment kits, managing/sending protocols and office supplies, and processing completed reports.

FCPS is implementing a researched/evidence-based Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Curriculum in every elementary school.
FCPS will be implementing SEL programs in middle and high schools this coming year.
