As a PLC Software Engineer/Technician, you will be responsible for researching, designing, testing and implementing Automated systems to meet both customer and company needs.
Using a variety of computer programming languages and applications, you'll assist the Electrical Design Engineers to develop electrical drawings and specify controls architectures. Selecting and testing new controls technologies, you'll evaluate, test and document all software developed for projects and standard products.
Additionally, you'll create effective training materials and provide training to customers on how to maintain and use installed hardware, products and software.
Your other duties will include:
- Assisting with the brainstorming and development of software
- Responding to customer calls and providing valuable support on a rotation basis
- Developing conveyor and graphic software for projects
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience of using various types of PLCs, including Allen Bradley, Modicon, Mitsubishi, Automation Direct and Yaskawa
- An understanding of IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including Function Block, Ladder Logic, Sequential Flow Charts and Structured Text
- The ability to perform a wide range of IT tasks, including computer setup, network configuration and software installation
- The willingness and ability to travel 50% or more of the time to provide customer support
Proactive and efficient, as a PLC Software Engineer/Technician, you must have excellent attention to detail and great communication, organization and problem solving skills.
