Project Controls Engineers prepare project estimating, scheduling & controlling, and detailed staffing utilization plans for projects. They assist in preparing cost/schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. They also monitor contractor schedule and identify any variances to associated cost and schedule.
The total number of Project Estimating, Scheduling & Cost Control hires and start dates are subject to workload and business conditions. Locations will vary based on project needs, and include Frederick, MD, Houston, TX and Reston, VA, among others.
General Job Duties
Project Control Engineers are generally responsible for:
- Preparing content for construction status reports
- Providing input on project schedule
- Reviewing the contractor baseline schedule and providing recommendations
- Identifying potential scope changes
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Construction Engineering or related field from an accredited college or University, completed no later than Spring 2014 and no more than 12 months prior to Spring 2014
- Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Construction Engineering or related field from an accredited college or University, completed no later than Spring 2014 and no more than 12 months prior to Spring 2014
- Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
- Prior co-op or internship experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project Scheduling software, Access, and/or Excel.
