Owner Operator Owner Operators-Regular Fleet Our Owner Operators enjoy the freedom or picking their own loads and running their business the way they see fit, without the burden of doing everything alone. We support our owner operators 110% with friendly and efficient office staff. We do require our contractors to run Rand McNally electronic logs. Here at Sammons Trucking, we take great pride in the slogan Safety First. We adhere to the following guidelines in our hiring practices: Applicants need to have 12 months of open deck experience (flat, step or RGN). We also require at least 24 months of over-the-road experience. To qualify for our Heavy Haul division, we require verification of 24 months of pulling heavy haul trailers. Sammons requires that all drivers have a TWIC card, if you do not have one at the time of hire, you will need to apply for one within 30 days. We prefer that tractors are a 2003 model or newer, but consider older models. In order to do this we will need to have pictures, a recent DOT inspection and maintenance review with our Safety Department. We take safety very seriously, therefore our recruiters will pull your Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), Pre-employment Screening Program Report (PSP) and DAC reports. Your PSP report will factor heavily in whether you qualify. Inspections and violations count against you and your employer. Your recruiter will go over your PSP with you and we encourage you to ask questions about this report. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY APPLICATION WITH A HISTORY OF A POSITIVE DRUG OR ALCOHOL TEST Our Owner Operators receive 75% of the line haul and 100% of the fuel surcharge. You are also paid 100% of any tarping, stop-offs, detentions or any other incidentals that are included in the load. You are able to obtain licensing through us and fuel reporting is done free of charge. We have insurance available at group rates. Trailers are available for rent, the weekly fee includes tires, maintenance, licensing and insurance. We have a fully staffed permit department as well. We have a Contractor
