Laboratory and Bioinformatics Support This position requires an active T3/Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US CitizenThis position provides laboratory support with laboratory experiments in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories and thus must hold and maintain BPRP status, IAW the provisions in the prevailing contract and applicable regulationsThis position aids in the execution of scientific studies performing molecular, microbiological, and other assays, collection/data analyzing, and maintain laboratory and laboratory equipment under established quality standardsCompensation &
Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Laboratory and Bioinformatics Support:
60,000 and up Pay commensurate with experienceFull time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as providedBenefits are subject to change with or without noticeLaboratory and Bioinformatics Support Responsibilities Include:
o Perform molecular, immunological, and genomic technical procedures within BLS-2 and BSL-3 laboratory environments.
o Compile raw data and assist in analysis and interpretation.
o Assist in bioinformatic analysis on genomic, molecular, and phenotypic data.
o May perform routine cell culture in preparation of cell-based assay experiments.
o Maintain existing Microsoft Access databases and other electronic databases as used within the laboratory.
o Support the preparation of technical reports and manuscripts for publication.
o Conduct routine maintenance of assigned laboratory space and equipment, including ordering regents and supplies, conducting safety inspections, and scheduling of equipment for required certifications.
o Ensure the safety and cleanliness of work areas/equipment.
o Ensure all experiments are performed and documented in accordance with applicable regulations.
o Performs other job-related duties as assignedLaboratory and Bioinformatics Support Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
o Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years laboratory experience.
o Preferred Master's degree.
o US citizenship is required.
o 1-2 years of bioinformatics experience is required.
o Molecular and microbiological assay expertise is required.
o Flow Cytometry experience is preferred.
o Experience working under a regulated Quality System, such as GLP/GCP/GMP/ISO regulations.
o Experience performing cell culture under aseptic conditions.
o Willingness and ability to work in BSL-3/4 high containment laboratories is required.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o Excellent organizational skills with high priority to attention to details and accurate record keeping.
o Multi-task in a high paced environment.
o Strong interpersonal skills.
o Ability to secure and maintain a Secret security clearance and enrollment in the Biosurety Personnel Reliability Program (BPRP).
